Thanks for being here!

I'm Marika, and from my studio in Reggio Emilia, Italy, I imagine and create decorative and functional pieces that aspire to enrich your spaces and your everyday life.

I also teach ceramics, as I believe that understanding how an object comes to life helps us to appreciate its value.
My goal is to transmit real, concrete skills: from organizing workflow to managing the stages of production, bringing awareness where before there was only intuition.

Practice teaches us that solutions emerge as we create, by trying and making mistakes, and that failure is an integral part of the creative process.

What does Atrapós mean?

The term means "path" in Ancient Greek, and derives from a maxim attributed to Pythagoras:

"Λίπε τὰς πλατείας ὁδούς,
βάδιζε ταῖς ἀτραποίς."

"Abandon the highway, take the smaller road."

BIO

My journey with ceramics began in 2019, when I took a wheel-throwing course after pausing my medical studies. Stepping away from theoretical work, I discovered in ceramics a personal dimension where experimental rigor could engage with aesthetics.

I specialized in wheel-throwing and slip-casting techniques through training in Milan, Faenza, and Seoul, while simultaneously developing my teaching practice privately, in schools, and in corporate settings.
Today, I design and create objects that reflect who I am, and I share my expertise with those who value time, quality, and meaningful connections.
